Brewing giant takes action against rival

Anheuser-Busch, the US brewing company, has asked the US District Court in St. Louis, Missouri, to block a hostile takeover by Belgian rival, InBev

Anheuser-Busch has claimed the Belgian brewer has entered into a course of deceptive conduct, to acquire control of Anheuser-Busch at a bargain price.

The suit alleges that InBev does not adequately compensate shareholders for their investment in the company.

The move by the top US brewer came after InBev raised its hostile bid by launching an effort with shareholders to dismiss the current board of Anheuser-Busch.
