Philippines pineapple crops up in clothes
UAE News.Net Wednesday 9th July, 2008
The Philippine government is recommending a new type of handmade cloth to European fashion markets.
The cloth, to be made out of pineapple and coconut husks, has been introduced to the European Union's couture market by President Gloria Arroyo.
In the Philippines, farmers have planted the long-leafed variety of pineapple which can be woven into cloth.
Pineapple leaves are threshed into pulp to create soft pineapple threads.
Natural dyes are sourced from coconut husks.

That is great for the Philippines export not human labor. We know it will work and plain hard work for the Pinas will pay in the long run. As long the politician does not get involved in the processes we will
prevail. You know what is wrong with the Philippines , too many congressional investigations, everytime you turn around, somebody is investigating something not even thier concern, too many solon, and too many fund raising for the church and even the church bishop is heavily involved in politics. If pay attention to the progress of the country we will prevail and be more progressive. Labor exportation to the other country is not a good product.
