EC to subsidise fishermen for a while
UAE News.Net Wednesday 9th July, 2008
The European Commission has said it will pay fishermen to help them deal with soaring fuel prices.
The European Union's executive said it would release up to 600 million euros in aid as part of a package of emergency measures.
The commission has pledged the money to help the fishing industry adapt to high fuel prices.
The new deal was struck after protests against fuel prices took hold in southern Europe, where the fishing sector has often complained about lack of consideration from Brussels.

EC to subsidise fishermen for a while
Why do fishermen receive a 'subsidy' and the delivery man get to simply struggle?
The are numerous disparities when Governments get into subsidies. Subsidies are not a replacement for lack of foresight and leadership! Rather, a subsidy is a mask of inepitude or bribes. Good Government? Hardly!
Look to the big subsidised barons in the US Congress! They claim its 'good'!
